5 Reasons to Hire the SmartGuy

1 Less Expensive I don't have a fancy storefront, or flashy Volkswagen Beetles with custom graphics to pay for. Therefore, I can keep my costs and ultimately, your price, low. See for yourself.

Price list for the Best Buy Geek Squad is available here.
Price list for Circuit City's Firedog service can be found here.

Keep in mind that some of my typical services, such as new PC setup, combine two or three of the competitions packages.

For example, setting up a new PC will cost you  $175 with me. The same package from the Geek Squad is at least $398. The Firedog service changes $199, but doesn't include creation of recovery disks or any software.
2 More Experience Who would you rather have working on your problem, a 20-something working his first "real" job, or a nationally respected author and professional with more than 20 years of PC experience? The national chains cut costs wherever they can. Their history of hiring under-trained PC repair staff is well-documented in various places around the net.
3 Trust and Safety With the SmartGuy, only one person touches your PC. This greatly enhances the security of your important data.

Your PC is not "passed around" to various personnel or left unattended where it can be accessed by others.
You've probably read about it in the paper or saw it on the news. The national chains have acquired a horrible reputation when it comes to servicing clients' computers. See here, and here.
4 Speed of Service Deal with one of the "big box" service centers and your PC could end up sitting on a shelf for weeks before anyone even looks at it.  Chances are your computer has become part of your lifestyle and being without it is a severe disadvantage.

The SmartGuy average turn-around time is 4-7 days.

Onsite service and "rush" jobs are even quicker, and same-day service is usually available at extra cost.

Service and completion times are clearly communicated upfront.
5 No Conflict of Interest PC service companies that are part of "big box" electronics retailers have a huge conflict of interest.

The "upsell" is part and parcel of the training program and many technicians will pressure customers to buy goods and services they don't need.
My business is not selling software or hardware.I offer the most cost-effective solutions for all my clients.

If you insist on installing commercial software, I will purchase the software at retail cost for you. The same goes for all hardware needed for your PC.
